Recently I feel like I’ve been dressing really well. Now, as much as I’d like to think I don’t care that much about what I wear everyday, I really do relish the cultivation of my own, personal style.

I went to a party last night at Katy’s and wore this outfit.

The boots are my birthday shoes, and I think they pretty much make the outfit.. Otherwise, I’m wearing shorts that I cut that used to be pants, a shirt from the Gap and a waistcoat from Urban Outfitters I bought forever ago, and the feather clip I also made.

I’m not quite sure how to describe what is becoming my own style, but I noticed something last night. Whenever I spend any distinct amount of time dressing myself, I’m always imagining some theme or costume. For instance, last night I was following some vaguely  lumberjack/native american/grunge in the 90s dress code. I’m totally into it.

2. The first few weeks of spring semester have been so hectic, it’s been hard to keep this ol’ thing updated. I will try to do better!

Every year my Grandma buys me a pair of shoes for my birthday. Any pair. The crazier the better, she says.. 

Anyway, I just got my new shoes: a brilliant pair of hip Frye Boots! They’re a tad more practical than the shoes I’ve had in the past, but I figure I can kill two birds with one stone: having a reliable boot to take to India next fall, and taking my wardrobe form borderline-preppy/boring to relying on a cornerstone of hip-dom: the all-essential hiking boot! Ugly socks to follow!

So, I’ve had some inquiries about my old header art, and I just wanted to give credit where credit is due!

My old header, featured below, was done by Portland artist, Evan B. Harris. (Believe it or not, he actually has an rad myspace page!) He is basically the love of my life and absolutely one of my favorite artists and I would be honored if one day he designed a tattoo for me!
